About

I am married, with two boys. The eldest graduated from Uni in July 2011, with a BSc. The youngest has Autism and lives partly at home. He is currently being phased into full time residential care and over the past 5 year has gone from one day a week to sleeping 11 nights in every fortnight. My eldest son and his partner are children’s entertainers and have a daughter born in 2019. My wife currently works in customer service for a large supermarket.

We have lived in Bramham since around 1996 and absolutely love the place. We live about 2 miles from Bramham Park, home of the Bramham Horse Trials, and for many years now, the Leeds Festival.

I worked for Leeds City Council as an IT support officer for over 26 years, taking early retirement in 2016. Prior to that, I was a qualified cook at the Leeds General Infirmary. Since September 2018, I have been working part-time as kitchen assistant/porter in a café in Wetherby. My working life has come full circle, as the first job I had after leaving school in 1971 was … kitchen assistant/porter at a large department store in Leeds City centre.

I am on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram and I have just restarted using Google Sites where you can find some more stuff from me, including some photos and some writing.

This blog tends to be personal rants and raves, on whatever takes my fancy. I have an interest in creative writing and am tempted to upload some to here again. My other hobbies include reading, cooking, knitting and listening to music.
