Sorry if this posting this is ‘out of order’ but do any of you guys use or have any experience of the Android App called Wattpad? Been told by a friend, that it it a great place to read free stories and a great place to write your own. Anyone any advice please?
Just a query

I am married with two adult children and used to work in an office for Leeds City Council. Prior to this, I was a cook in an old persons home, but before that, I was a cook at the Leeds General Infirmary. I took early retirement from the Council in 2016, and I now do part-time work as a kitchen porter/assistant in a local cafe. I put some stuff on Wattpad a few years ago when anyone could read what was on the site. Now you have to become a member, although I think it’s still free, or you must sign in, to read anything. After a bit of a negative feedback the admins changed to allowing the reading of one page before you have to sign in. I did get quite a few views though. I haven’t checked it in a long time so things might be different now. You could give it a try and see what you think.

Thanks Jean. I did sign up for this, but within around 10 minutes I got a couple of followers, which both turned out to be spam accounts. Maybe I should try again.

It’s such a big site now there’s bound to be problems with spammers. I joined Scribophile after being on Wattpad and found it a bit more grown up, haven’t been on it for ages though. Writer’s Cafe might suit you better though, I never joined that one so I can’t comment on it. I did join a new site called Inkitt, but it’s early days with that one. Check them out and see what you think yourself, Tony.
